HostingWe will again this year be hosted by Muskingum University in New Concord, Ohio. Muskingum University is located approximately one hour east of Columbus, Ohio. Click here for directions. Callback roomsCallback rooms are available, free of charge, to those producers who request them. Because of the distance between hotels and the Muskingum campus, holding callbacks in producer hotel rooms is not an option. The campus callback rooms will be available to producers throughout the day Saturday, allowing producers with more than one representative the opportunity to attend auditions and conduct callbacks simultaneously. Producers can remain in their callback room as late into the evening as is required. Additionally, producers may choose to set up any special promotional displays in their callback room on Friday evening. Dance AuditionsProducers will select those auditionees that they want to see attend the dance auditions, which will take place mid-day (for morning auditionees) and at the conclusion of auditions (for afternoon auditionees). Last year, approximately 70 auditionees participated in the dance auditions. Technical InterviewsProducers hiring technicians/designers/managers will be provided a table in the Interview Room upon which they may set up promotional material and conduct interviews throughout the day. Auditions and interviews occur simultaneously throughout the day on Saturday. MealsA hot lunch for producers will be provided on Saturday. One lunch is included in your producer registration fee. Additional lunches may be ordered at $10 each. Vegetarian meals are available. As in previous years, we will offer a free sack dinner to producers who are holding callbacks in the evening on Saturday. AccommodationsOTA has blocked rooms at the Hampton Inn in Cambridge (8775 Georgetown Road) for both Friday and Saturday night. Reservations can be made by phoning the hotel directly (740-439-0600). A discounted group rate is available to OTA producers. Directions to the hotel can be found at www.cambridge.hamptoninn.com. HospitalityOn Friday evening, the Ohio Theatre Alliance will host a hospitality suite at the Hampton Inn from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. for all producers to check in, pick up producer books, and share a beverage and snacks with regional colleagues. For producers who would like to check out the audition/interview site, and/or set up promotional materials on Friday, we will have OTA volunteers onsite at Muskingum University from 3:00 through 5:00 p.m. Video RegistrationLast year, OTA beta-tested a new service for producers who are unable to attend our North Central Regional Auditions and Interviews in person: video registration. Producers who beta-tested this service received a DVD set containing a video-recording of our acting auditionees as well as a copy of our producer book (containing pictures and resumes for all auditionees). Auditionees will sign a waiver that they acknowledge that their audition will be recorded and sent to those producers who have registered for the service. Any auditionees who do not sign the waiver will not be included in the DVDs. Last year, every auditionee was included in the DVDs. Based on the positive feedback we received from our beta-testing producers, OTA is now offering this service to all producers who are unable, due to travel costs or scheduling difficulties, to attend our live event in Ohio. Click here to register for the event. |
